2011 Fall Phonathon Under Way

The Fund for UALR has been holding its annual Fall Phonathon over the last few weeks. The Phonathon began on September 19, 2011 and will run through October 27th, spanning six weeks. The Phonathon provides that opportunity for current UALR students to reach out to alumni, previous donors, and friends to ask for their support of the The Fund for UALR (the UALR annual fund), a source of unrestricted donations that go to support the needs of students on campus.

2011 Fall Phonathon Callers

The Phonathon has been operating out of the call center at the Institute of Economic Advancement, located in the Reynolds College of Business. In addition to helping the university, this is a great opportunity to earn extra income.

“The UALR Phonathon has provided me with a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the university, its history, and get to talk to people who want to support it, just as I do” said Mikelle Moore, a junior Business Management major from Milwaukee, WI. In addition to asking for donations, student callers must be prepared to answer questions about the university, its history, current events or updates on campus.

“At first, it was a little intimidating, but you get into a rhythm and feed off the energy of everyone else” said Kimberly Gulley, a junior social work major from Magnolia, AR. “It is really great to see that the money we are raising is directly impacting the lives of students such as myself.”
