Business Honor Society Recognizes Arkansas Capital Corporation Exec

The College’s Business Beta Gamma Sigma chapter recognized Chief Operating Officer of the Arkansas Capital Corporation Group, C. Sam Walls, as its honoree Nov. 29.

Sam Walls and Dr. WaylandWalls is a 1969 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He has a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in History. Upon graduation, Walls was diverted from his planned path of a career in the field of law when he became associated with Dillard’s Department stores of Little Rock, AR. After seven years, his entrepreneurial spark was ignited, and he embarked on a lifelong path of serial entrepreneurship, economic development, and entrepreneurial education and development.

For nearly 24 years, Walls has served as the leader for Arkansas Capital Corporation and eight additional companies created under his leadership. Now known as the Arkansas Capital Corporation Group, these companies are active in lending, venture capital, youth entrepreneurship, investment tax credit Incentives, foreign investment, and internet adoption and availability for the citizens in Arkansas.

Dr. Jane P. Wayland, the Stephen Harrow Smith Dean of Business, presented the Chapter Honoree award to Walls. The award is given to someone who has achieved distinction in business and administration and possesses qualities that Beta Gamma Sigma fosters in its commitment to the advancement of business thought and practice to encourage lifelong learning.

Beta Gamma Sigma is the international honor society serving business programs accredited by AACSB International – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a program accredited by AACSB.
