6×6 event supports fine arts programs, Oct. 21

UALR Friends of the Arts will host the fundraising event called “6 × 6” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, in the Applied Design Studio in the University Plaza, Suite 300.

The event showcases pieces created by UALR students, faculty and alumni in several mediums.  Tickets are $35 for general admission, $30 for UALR faculty and staff, and $15 for students. Tickets may be purchased online or by contacting Jacqueline Willis at 501.569.3296 or jmwillis@ualr.edu.

For the fourth year, the funds from 6×6 will help support the university’s fine arts programs including the visual arts, theatre arts and dance, and music.

Guests will enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres in the unique atmosphere of UALR’s Applied Design Studio, where they will view works in progress and speak with student artists and faculty.  Artist and alumnus Dan Thornhill will present a special exhibit, and a portion of his proceeds will be donated to the event for student success initiatives.

A silent auction will feature works by UALR faculty, students and other artists connected to UALR.
