Bob Denman, vice chancellor for advancement at UALR, has announced that Leah Thorvilson will be joining the College of Education and Health Professions as director of development and external affairs. Thorvilson’s appointment takes effect on Thursday, October 16.
Most recently, she served as director of development for the Department of Athletics, leading the 2014 SpectacUALR event.
“SpectacUALR is among our most successful fundraising events and requires leadership, great volunteer management skills, and an enthusiastic and dedicated work ethic. Leah provided all of that and much more,” Denman said.
Denman added that Thorvilson’s skills and interest in health-related issues made her the ideal candidate for her new duties. A replacement for Thorvilson’s vacated position is anticipated by the end of October, said Denman.
