Taste of Little Rock Raises $121,000 for UALR Scholarships

TasteofLittleRockGreeksThe University of Arkansas at Little Rock Alumni Association raised more than $121,500 for student scholarships during one of its largest annual fundraising events, Taste of Little Rock.

The money will go to the UALR Scholarship Endowment Fund to provide scholarships for 12 deserving UALR students.

The Alumni Association broke its fundraising goal of $100,000 by more than $21,500, thanks to generous sponsors, donors, and the more than 750 people who attended the April 14 event at UALR’s Jack Stephens Center.

In its 13th year, the upscale food-tasting event featured more than 40 of Little Rock’s most popular restaurants.

Bob and Peggy Denman, dedicated alumni of UALR and active members of the Little Rock community, were the night’s featured guests of honor.

Bob Denman, president of the Rotary Club of Little Rock, also known as Club 99, retired from UALR as the vice chancellor for advancement on March 30. Denman managed some of the largest gifts in UALR history, including the university’s first comprehensive fundraising campaign, which lasted 10 years and raised $103.4 million.
