Giving Opportunities

There are several avenues for giving to the University:

Annual Gifts

The Office of Annual Giving operates to raise both friends and funds in support of UALR. We seek to build strong relationships with alumni, friends, parents, and businesses encouraging support of our University and providing education about the importance of annual giving in sustaining UALR’s tradition of scholastic excellence and academic innovation.

For more information, visit www.ualr.edu/annualfund or contact Daniel McPherson at 683-7502 or dpmcpherson@ualr.edu.

Planned Giving

All gifts are important to UALR, but none leaves a more lasting impression than planned gifts. Consider one made to Little Rock Junior College (LRJC) by Louvenia and George Donaghey nearly 73 years ago. On July 1, 1929, LRJC became the sole beneficiary of the Donaghey Foundation trust. The Donagheys designated $2,000,000 - the largest single donation to an Arkansas institution up to that time - for the use by the college. Initially, the Foundation funded less than $3,000 a year to LRJC - just a dent in the annual operating budget. Today, the Donaghey Foundation’s support of the University is on a much grander scale. The University received $5.9 million from the Foundation in the 1990s alone.

For more than seventy years, the Donaghey’s planned gift has been benefiting the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. For more information on how your deferred or planned gift could help the University for years to come, contact Mary Boaz in the UALR Office of Planned Giving at 569-8738 or mcboaz@ualr.edu.

Corporate and Foundation Relations

At UALR, the Office of Development through Corporate and Foundation Relations helps develop and strengthen mutually beneficial partnerships with corporations and foundations. Forming partnerships with the private and nonprofit sectors enables the University to strengthen its investment in the future of its students, its research enterprise, and its service to the public, as well as foster opportunities for companies and organizations to have a measurable and positive impact on higher education.
