Dan Shisler, director of digital strategy, came to the university in early 2013 with more than 15 years of experience in the area of digital marketing and analytics. He previously worked at Dillardâ€™s, Inc. corporate headquarters, where he served as lead analyst and SEO-SEM manager, managing all aspects of the digital marketing program. HeÂ earned his bachelor of science in anthropology systems from Florida State University in 1997.
Since the creation of the Department of Digital Strategy, Shisler has developed and managedÂ plans to re-envision the website properties for UALR by creating content and usage partnerships and driving responsive, accessible, and forward-thinking web environment for the university. He is committed to producing a world-class online experience for prospective, current, and graduate students, as well as an ecology that promotes campus involvement and interaction.
Not only is Dan busy transforming the UALR webÂ presence, he is also busy being a new dad to his baby boy.
Senior web content manager Jennifer Godwin came to UALR in May 2012 after spending more than a decade at theÂ Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, where she served as the online news editor for six years. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Henderson State University, where she was editor of the university’s newspaper and a member of the Honors College.
She has designed magazines, written about everything from crime waves to rock bands, blogged, and learned to code. It is that emphasis on multimedia she finds so satisfying in the work she gets to do. UALR has plenty of stories to tell, and she is thrilled to get to share them with world. When she’s not working, Jennifer embraces all things Arkansas, from nature trails to good eats.
Social and digital content strategist Meaghan Milliorn spends much of her day planning content for the university’s social media channels and assisting departments and students with their web and social marketing needs. She graduated from UALR in 2008 with a B.A. in journalism and returned to the university in 2009 to work in the Office of Communications.
Meaghan loves social media and interacting with students, alums, and the community through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and theÂ Sights and SoundsÂ blog. When she isnâ€™t pouring over Facebook insights and creating ads to reach thousands of people, she enjoys trying out new restaurants with her husband and playing with her two young sons.
Aaron Baker has spent more than 10 years at UALR, previously serving as the web services coordinator. He oversees the university’s search engine marketing and optimization programs, ensuring that UALR and its vast array of programs, academic departments, and services are front and center in related searches. He also keeps a close eye on all web traffic and uses those stats and other research to improve the overall information architecture and usability of our digital landscape.
Aaron has a Master of Arts degree in Professional and Technical Writing from UALR and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Music from Arkansas Tech University. Aside from working on the web, he also teaches these skills to the next generation of web workers in UALR’s IT Minor Program.
