DRC wins Trojan Green Award

From the Sustainability Committee:

UALR’s Disability Resource Center, which went paperless this semester, won the 2012 Trojan Green Award in honor of Earth Day. The office digitized all student files, eliminated duplicate and obsolete forms, sent emails instead of printed letters, printed on both sides of paper, sent telephone messages via text or email, and recycled all printer cartridges.

“The result? A whopping 77 percent reduction in paper usage when compared to the same time period last year,” said Dr. Nancy Landrum, chair of the UALR Sustainability Committee.

Trojan Green is an annual department/unit competition sponsored by the UALR Sustainability Committee to encourage the adoption of sustainability practices in the workplace.
