Fourth Year Donaghey Scholars Jeannie Kuang-Nguyen and Osvaldo Cossio, along with fellow UALR students Dave Soni and Rachel Hutchinson, traveled to San Francisco, CA this past weekend to participate in the American Chemical Society’s 253rd National Meeting & Exposition. Jeannie serves as president of our local ACS chapter and Osvaldo serves as vice president.
Our student chapter received a Commendable Award for their many campus and community activities last year and this was presented to the leadership team during the conference. They also presented on the activities our student chapter engages in, such as volunteering at local high school and elementary school science fairs, offering free tutoring, etc. to encourage younger students and current college students to enter STEM.
