About the School of Education

School of Education at UA Little Rock offers various programs of study in Teacher Education and Educational Leadership focus areas.

Teacher Education

This is truly an exciting time to be a teacher in Arkansas! The teacher preparation program at UA Little Rock prepares people for challenging, meaningful, and rewarding careers in elementary, middle school, or secondary levels of teaching. All of our programs are nationally recognized by their respective professional preparation associations. We believe our graduates to be among the most highly qualified teachers in the profession. To accomplish this, UALR prepares pre-service teacher candidates to acquire the knowledge, dispositions, and skills identified by specialized professional associations.

If you are currently teaching in today’s school, the School of Education offers a variety of graduate certificates, and graduate degrees designed to advance your knowledge, skills, and dispositions with faculty expertise in the areas of elementary education, middle childhood, secondary education, reading education, special education, and graduate level content specialization.
