AGENDA for Meeting
A. The meeting began at 9:30 am. Dr. Gary Anderson, EIT Assembly President, welcomed the faculty. Â Major changes since the last assembly meeting include (1) the new Dean, Dr. Eric Sandgren, (2) the transfer of the Applied Science Department from EIT to CSAM, and (3) the launching of the new PhD Program in Engineering Systems and Sciences.
B. Department Chairs reported that they did not have any new faculty or staff to recognize.Â The Deanâ€™s
Office has one new person, Sheena Brooks, who will be the collegeâ€™s point person for admissions and assistantships for graduate students.
C. Dr. Sandgren gave a presentation to the faculty on the current state of the college and strategic
planning for the coming year.Â A copy of the presentation is available with these minutes.
D. Dr. Gary Anderson reminded Depts/Chairs to get their list of College Reps to Liz PierceÂ no later thanÂ 5:00 p.m. onÂ Friday, August 26, so she can update the EIT Assembly Committee Lists. Â The college committees will comprise:
- Â· Undergraduate Curriculum Committee
- Â· Graduate Curriculum Committee
- Â· Awards Committee
- Â· Policy and Personnel Advisory Committee: team-teaching initiative
- Â· Ad Hoc Committee: Propose Amendments toÂ the EIT Constitution, e.g., eliminate Recruiting and Retention Committee?
E. The assembly meeting adjourned at approximately 10:30 am.
