Technical Writer Intern will learn assigned Acxiom solutions and procedures. The individual will be expected to create, develop, plan, write and edit operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia or web-based publication. Conducts interviews with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation. Researches and translates technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for nontechnical and technical users. May document engineering processes and specifications. Recommends formats responsive to technical and customer requirements. Produces products that conform to the company documentation and quality assurance standards. May be required to conduct usability test and create user stories in the product backlog representing the end user needs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Planning, analysis, design, and creation of internal and external documentation
- Working with Technical Specs and designs to produce project documentation
- Writing and editing technical documentation.
- 15-20 hours during the school year and summer. Flexible work schedule.
- Ability to understand and break down complex solutions to business problems and solutions
- Strong grammar and editing skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong MS Word and Excel skills
- Proven Team working skills
Nice to Have Skills:
- Database (browsing and querying) exposure/experience
- Previous technical writing experience
Preferred Educational Requirements:
Bachelor or Masters students pursuing a degree in MIS, Business-related degree (specifically Marketing), Computer Science and Technical Writing, English, Communication, or related areas of study. GPA: 2.75 or above. Seeking December 2013 or May 2014 or December 2014 graduates.
