Invensys – SimSci Team Internship

Invensys Internship Academic Program

We would like to formally invite your department to participate in the 2014 summer internship program with the SimSci team at Invensys.  We ask that you select one of your undergraduate or graduate students as a candidate for the internship.

Invensys is a leading supplier of process simulation, design, and optimization software for refining, petrochemical, and refining industries.  Our clients include many of the largest companies in the world, including 23 of the top 25 petroleum companies, 48 of the top 50 chemical companies, and 18 of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies.

The attached flyer describes the internship program.  I would greatly appreciate if you could publicize the internship among your undergraduate and graduate students and select the one candidate that you feel is best suited for an internship with Invensys.  Candidates should have experience with process simulation software (need not be ours), possess effective communication skills (the ability to write reports with technical content), and also possess some basic software skills (the ability to write macros in Excel).

The selected candidate must have completed at last 3 years of an undergraduate chemical engineering program by the summer of 2014.

We would greatly appreciate if you could complete the selection process by January 15, 2014.  After selecting the best candidate, please send an email containing your recommendation, candidates CV and candidate’s letter of application, to the following email address:

In addition, I would like to use this opportunity to invite your department to join our Academic Program or to further expand the use of our software if you are already a participant.  We have recently updated our academic program to:

  • Group the software in bundles corresponding to different work responsibilities and roles
  • Extend technical support to professors.
  • Greatly reduced academic pricing
  • Include competitive pricing for departments using a competitor’s software.
  • Include teaching examples provided by professors to be shared by other professors.

The internship will be at one of our regional offices around the world (Europe, Middle East, Asia, and South America) or in our USA offices in Texas, California, or Massachusetts.  If the student will require a visa, we will provide the student with the offer letter; however the student will be responsible for obtaining a visa.

Please contact me directly to discuss further how our Academic Program can assist your department in educating new generations of engineers.
