Students in the College of Engineering and Information Technology have the opportunity to wow employers from more than 40 companies in central Arkansas during its upcoming EIT Career Fair on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
“This career fair is always very successful,” said EIT student worker Mya McCray. “It gives students a chance to make a great first impression and because of it, many students have been offered jobs and internships. Some have even received jobs later on down the line.”
The career fair will last from noon to 4 p.m. in the Jack Stephens Center. The cost is free for all UA Little Rock students and $5 for non-students.
Professional attire is required for all attendees, along with a resume.
A few of the companies expected to attend the career fair include Dillard’s IT, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Henderson Engineers, Inc, Nabholz Construction Services, and the Venture Center, along with a host of others.
“The great thing about this event is that students can find the employer that best fits their needs,” McCray said. “Business students may not be interested in engineering companies, but they could definitely find something that works for their field.”
For students who wish to have an up close and personal interaction with employers before the career fair, the college will host an EIT Meet and Greet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 13 in the Donaghey Student Center Ledbetter hall.
This intimate meeting will not only provide more one on one time for students and employers, but it will also build students’ confidence as they are able to have effective dialogue with professionals in their desired fields.
