CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
What
Accepting submissions of original poetry, short fiction, artwork and photography (color or black and white).
Who
Any UALR undergraduate or graduate student may submit original work to Equinox.
When
Submission deadline: November 20, 2009.
Awards
$50 William G. Cooper Award in each category (poetry, fiction, and black and white art); $75 Richard Stanley Cooper Award for best overall submission.
Submissions
Equinox accepts both electronic and print submissions. Hard copies may be delivered, in person or via the U.S. mail, to the address below. Electronic submissions (preferred) will be accepted at equinox.ualr@gmail.com.
- Fiction: submit one double-spaced, typed copy of each submission. Limit each individual submission to 5,000 words.
- Poetry: submit one single-spaced, typed copy of each submission.
- Photography & Artwork: DO NOT SEND ORIGINAL! Send high quality reproduction instead. Please note: color artwork will only be considered for the cover of the journal.
All Submissions
Include a coversheet with your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, and the title of your work. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope for notification with all physical submissions. Deliver or mail your work to:

Frequently Asked Questions
How should I format electronic submissions?
Please send all electronic submissions as attachments in either .doc or .rtf format. Send artwork as in high quality .jpg or .png format. If we accept your work, we may ask for another format.
Will my work be edited?
Equinox staff reserves the right to edit all selected works.
But I’m a sculptor/mixed media artist/other non-2D medium artist! Can I submit?
Certainly. Just just find someone to take a representative photograph of your work (color for cover consideration, B&W for all other submissions). Please include the name of the photographer with your submission.
Can I submit art in both color and black and white?
Sure!
