Oyster has now settled into its new home on Sourceforge. ( http://sourceforge.net/p/oysterer/home/Home/ ) This will be the place to download the run time jar files, oyster code, run time gui and the gui code. As Oyster continues to grow and we needed to find a place that can be a central place for our download and information home. We hope that you will continue to enjoy the use of Oyster and give us the needed feedback to continue its growth. Thank you for your continued support.

Dr. John Talburt, Director of the ERIQ Research Center, gave a tutorial on Entity and Identity Resolution at the 4th Annual Information Quality Industry Symposium (IQIS 2010) held at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, July 14-16, 2010. Interest in entity and identity resolution have been growing because they are key processes in the current movement to create information exchange hubs in health care, law enforcement, education, and the military. In his talk, Dr. Talburt discussed the distinction between entity reference equivalence and entity reference matching, the false negative problem, and three basic ER models - Fellegi-Sunter, Stanford Entity Resolution Framework (SERF), and Algebraic. He also announced that the ERIQ Research Center will launch an open-source entity resolution project called OYSTER to be available on Source Forge later this year.

Infoglide Software Corporation of Austin, Texas (www.infoglide.com), and the UALR ERIQ Laboratory signed a collaboration agreement providing ERIQ access to Infoglide’s Identity Resolution Engine (IRE) software for evaluation and research. IRE is Infoglide’s patented identity resolution technology that allows for data matching, auto classification, and data cleansing in applications for data quality and master data management (MDM), including customer data integration (CDI) and product information management (PIM). “We’re proud to be working with a leading center of advanced research focused on entity resolution and information quality,” said Robert Barker, senior vice president at Infoglide Software. “The work in which Dr. Talburt and his team of faculty and students are engaged will continue to push the state of technology forward.” Dr. John R. Talburt, ERIQ Director, is a regular contributor to Identity Resolution Daily, an Internet Blog sponsored by Infoglide. As part of the collaboration, Infoglide will fund a scholarship for students in the UALR Information Quality Graduate Program.
