Description

The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics prepares students to enter graduate school, to teach at the elementary and secondary levels, to understand and use mathematics in other fields of knowledge with basic mathematical skills for everyday living, and to be employed and to act in a consulting capacity on matters concerning mathematics.

Admission Requirements

  • A cumulative grade point average of 2.50 or better
  • Must have passed MATH 1302 and MATH 1303 or their equivalents with a grade of C or greater or have established proficiency by a placement exam or an equivalent method

Graduation Requirements

In addition to the core curriculum, students are required to complete 30 hours of course work in the major and 6 additional hours of upper‐level mathematics or statistics electives. Six hours of German or French are strongly recommended for students who intend to obtain the PhD degree in mathematics.
