Description
The Master of Education in Learning Systems Technology (LSTE) prepares students in the field of educational technology for careers in public schools, community colleges, higher education institutions, business, industry, and medical settings or facilities. Specifically, the program will enable educational technologists to analyze problems in all aspects of human learning including implementation, evaluation, management and revision of solutions to those problems.

Admission Requirements
The program faculty will accept students who meet the criteria for the College of Education MEd admission requirements for non-certificate students.
Graduation Requirements
The Master of Education in Learning Systems Technology requires a total of 36 graduate credit hours, including 9 Educational Foundations hours, 18 Learning Technologies hours, a 3 to 6 hour field experience, up to 3 elective courses from the areas of Foundations, English writing, Learning Technologies or other content area approved by the adviser, plus a comprehensive examination or alternative exit requirement, i.e. a portfolio. No more than six hours of workshop credit will be accepted in the program. No more than six hours earned within the last 3 years of transfer credit will be accepted in the program.

Accreditation
The program goals are based on the International Society for Technology in Education Standards for Basic Endorsement in Educational Computing and Technology Literacy (currently, an endorsement in the state of Arkansas does not exist, however, the endorsement is a planned project by the State Department of Education) and the ISTE Standards for Advanced Programs in Educational Computing and Technology Leadership listed in the resources pages on this web site.
UALR is affiliated with the Electronic Campus of the Southern Regional Education Board, fully accredited by North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and designated as “doctoral/research intensive” by the Carnegie Foundation.
