The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality, ADEQ, protects the air, water, and land from the threat of pollution and strives for environmental quality through programs of regulation, education, and assistance.

Audubon Arkansas’ mission is to conserve and restore natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife, and their habitats for the benefit of humanity and the earth’s biological diversity.

The Nature Conservancy in Arkansas strives to preserve the plants, animals, and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive.

The Regional Recycling & Waste Reduction District works with Pulaski County jurisdictions in the areas of garbage and yard waste collection, composting, recycling, tires, and household chemicals. The cities and the county provide their own services but use a regional approach to achieve system efficiencies through contract negotiation and administration.

The U.S. Green Building Council-Arkansas Chapter seeks to create a legacy for future generations based on responsible planning, design, construction, and operation of the state’s buildings, landscapes, cityscapes, and neighborhoods.
