WebCT Security
The use of WebCT can be made a bit more secure if the following client-side
suggestions are followed.
Users should log off of their WebCT account when finished. The browser
must be closed completely to log off WebCT. There is no need to restart the
computer.
If Internet Explorer 5.+ is used, go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Internet
Options -> Advanced -> Security. Check the box for "Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed." Click "OK"
If Netscape 4.7+ is used, go to Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Cache. Click the radio button next to "Every Time," then click OK.
The use of Opera is untested (as far as I know) with WebCT. The browser cache is purged in a similar fashion as with Netscape.
Feel free to contact Don Rowlett ddrowlett@ualr.edu or Aimee Dixon acdixon@ualr.edu if you need additional assistance.
