UALR's WebCT Student Learner Guide

This Learner Guide is designed to be used as an aid to help students understand WebCT.

To use this help guide BEFORE "officially" logging on to WebCT as a student:
Log On to WebCT at http://webct.ualr.edu
Log on as
user name: webct
password: guest
(all lower case letters)

Students can also add this Learner Guide as a sample course AFTER "officially" logging on to WebCT as a student, so that it will appear on their "my WebCT" page. Contact Paul Francis to have your students added to this WebCT sample course.

Thanks to Paul Francis for compiling this helpful WebCT Learner Guide for UALR students.

NOTE: Students will not be able to properly use the email or chat features while logged on as a "guest." Once they are properly logged on to WebCT using their own user name and password, they can use the "WebCT Learner Guide" to use the chat and email to access UALR's online Help Desk through WebCT. Students can also call the Help Desk at 569-8720 (569-8727 on weekends). See the Support page for more information.

Below are some links that are posted on Webct, and a bonus link on troubleshooting. These pages might help make Webct a little easier to understand for new online students. Feedback is welcome on your insights as to if these links helped and which ones helped the most.

The first two links under Mastering the Basics are probably all that is needed to master getting around in WebCT. But the curious might want to spend a few hours looking at some of the other sites included here...and maybe even earn a few extra bonus points!
