College of Professional Studies
The College of Professional Studies is the embodiment of UALR’s metropolitan university mission. Their programs impact the quality of life for a million and a half Arkansans each day. The Institute of Government trains 1200 community and state leaders each year. MidSouth Center for Education, Research, and Training brings 1000 individuals to campus each year for continuing education in substance abuse training. The college also trains all social workers in the state providing child welfare services. The local NPR stations fall under this college and reach over 750,000 Arkansans. Audiology and Speech Pathology serves 2700 clients each year directly through their campus clinic and by the 30-40 interns they place in community clinics each year. The college also places 300 interns, residents, and graduate students in applied learning settings in the central Arkansas area.
