Frances S. Fendler

A sense of humor can often diffuse a tense, difficult situation. Professor Frances Fendler has been working for more than 20 years to ensure that her students work hard while enjoying themselves in her business law classes.

Fendler focuses on the core skills each lawyer should have and stresses them through her teaching. Because every lawyer should write well, she incorporates writing assignments in all of her courses. She works to help students bridge the gap between theory and practice, preparing them for future greatness in the law profession. Fendler also utilizes a number of different media to teach classes at the Bowen School, helping to ensure that all students learn effectively.

Out of the classroom, Fendler also shows concern for her students’ success. She works to attend many events sponsored by student organizations  to show her support and set a strong example for other faculty members.

Fendler earned both a bachelor’s degree and juris doctor from UA Little Rock. The Arkansas Bar Foundation applauded her writing skills with a writing excellence award, and the Arkansas Bar Association honored her continuing legal presentation skills as well. She is a member of the bar associations for the District of Columbia and Arkansas and the Association of Arkansas Women Lawyers.
