T. Gregory Barrett

Examining minority issues

Dr. T. Gregory Barrett is committed to equality for each student at all levels of the educational experience. The associate professor’s work in the Department of Educational Leadership has led to numerous grants and publication in a number of refereed journals as sole author, an achievement that is unique in the field.

Greg BarrettDespite his rewarding research work, much of which is focused on diversity in higher education, Dr. Barrett also focuses a considerable amount of time to strengthening the ties between doctoral students and their mentors. This endeavor serves to increase the quality of those students’ research and to help ensure their success in the demanding world of professional academics.

Dr. Barrett earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Emory University and his Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University. He earned a master’s degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree, both in higher education, from the University of Michigan. A member of the American Educational Research Association, he is also active in the Organization of Educational Historians.
