David Montague

Enabling research and service

Giving up is not an option for students in Dr. David Montague’s criminal justice classes. This assistant professor brings his experience inside and outside the classroom to bear on the success of his students, and they appreciate his unique dedication to their individual achievements.

David MontagueAs the founder and director of the Senior Justice Center, Dr. Montague emphasizes the importance of service learning. In addition, he has developed curriculum for Adult Protective Services that allows senior-services providers in Arkansas to continue their education online wherever they happen to be. Dr. Montague also utilizes technology in the classroom in his courses for the Master of Science in Criminal Justice program.

Dr. Montague earned his bachelor’s degree in political science at Morehouse College and his master’s degree in forensic science from George Washington University. He earned his doctorate in political science at Howard University and completed a graduate research fellowship at the Howard University Center of Urban Progress in Washington, D.C. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors for LifeQuest of Arkansas and as vice chair of the Board of Directors for the Wrightsville Prison Unit’s Community Reentry Initiative.
