Building students’ futures
In a rapidly changing field like construction management, professors have to keep abreast of new developments and implement changes in coursework to ensure their students are ready for challenges not yet imagined in their chosen fields. Dr. Haiyan Xie embraces this challenge with enthusiasm, emphasizing real-world application for the knowledge she shares in the classroom.
This associate professor has designed and implemented a number of courses in the Department of Construction Management since her arrival at UALR. In addition, she provides assistance in labs, training seminars, and review sessions beyond her regular duties in the classroom. Dr. Xie coaches award-winning commercial construction management teams, mentors students and helps set her students on rewarding career paths.
Dr. Xie earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in construction engineering and management from Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology in China. She earned a master of science degree in computer information and science engineering and her doctorate in design, construction, and planning from the University of Florida.
