Faculty Excellence
UALR’s faculty members are strong teachers, ground-breaking researchers, and dedicated public servants. Since 1988, we have set aside an evening in late spring to celebrate the contributions and achievements of our faculty at the Annual Faculty Excellence Awards Banquet.
Dr. James A. Levernier, professor of English in UALR’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, won the $10,000 Ted and Virginia Bailey Foundation Faculty Excellence Award in Teaching. The teaching award recipient’s department received $2,500. View all college-level winners in the teaching category.
Dr. Ann Robinson, professor of educational leadership, won the $5,000 University Faculty Excellence award for Research sponsored by PepsiAmericas. View all college-level winners in the research category.
Dr. Mark Giese, associate professor of mass communication, won the $5,000 University Faculty Excellence Award for Public Service sponsored by UALR Society of Philanthropy. View all college-level winners in the public service category.
The 2012 awards were held on Thursday, April 12. The evening began with a ceremony in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall, followed by a reception in the Bailey Alumni & Friends Center.
