Impacting Workplace Relations

Dr. Thomas Tudor’s extensive publications in the areas of human resources and organizational studies are constant and ongoing, and his research is impacting workplaces around the globe.

Tom TudorResearch by. Tudor, professor of management in the College of Business’ Department of Management, is finding ways to motivate employees with limited pay incentives. He presented this research in Taiwan at the International Conference of Decision Sciences Institute.

He has received a Balsley-Whitmore grant to study how different cultures around the world perceive sexual harassment. His research examines how sexual harassment laws differ between countries and how they are enforced.

“During the last five years, Tom has had nine journal publications and five proceeding publications in peer-reviewed outlets,” said Dr. Warren S. Stone, professor of management. “During his career, he has had 27 journal and 17 proceeding articles. Data has been collected in the United States, Europe, and Asia and has contributed unquestionably to the expansion of knowledge in his field.”

His research during the last five years has attracted $14,200 in grants and $43,100 throughout his career. His latest involves gathering data for research on better religious understanding and accommodation in the workforce in relation to Christians, Jews, and Muslims.

“Dr. Tudor has earned a reputation for being one of the best researchers in the department,” said Dr. Sung-kwan Kim, associate professor in the Department of Management. “Dr. Tom Tudor is an invaluable asset to the department and the university.

Tudor came to UA Little Rock 11 years ago. He earned his B.S. degree in marketing at Virginia Polytechnic and State University in 1988, and a MBA in 1992 and a Ph.D. in management and human resources in 1997 from Virginia Commonwealth University.
