Eligibility
- Must be U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
- Must be registered with Selective Service (All males who are at least 18 years of age and born on or after January 1, 1960.)
- May not have eligibility suspended or terminated due to drug-related conviction
- Must have valid Social Security Number
- May not be in default on federal student loan
- Must not owe overpayment of federal grant or loan
- May not have borrowed in excess of aggregate student loan limits.
- Must demonstrate financial need for need-based financial aid programs.
- Must be pursuing degree, certificate, or other recognized credential
- UALR-specific requirements:
- Only students admitted with regular or conditional admission status are eligible to receive Title IV financial aid funds. Students admitted with a provisional, temporary, special or transient admission status are not eligible for Title IV federal financial aid. (Provisional students may be offered financial aid, but cannot receive financial aid funds until their admit status is regular or conditional.) Note: Requests for change of admission status are subject to a deadline. Please refer to the published deadline date.
- Students must be pursuing a degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
- Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in eligible program of study
- UALR-specific requirements:
- You must be fully admitted and enrolled at least half-time to receive federal student loan funds.
- The majority of programs administered by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education require a student to be enrolled full-time (minimum enrollment of 12 hours undergraduate/9 hours graduate) in order to receive funds. The Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship program and the Arkansas Governor’s Scholarship program require a student to be enrolled in 15 hours each term in order to receive funds.

- Satisfactory Academic Progress at UALR has three components:
- Student aid recipients must successfully complete a minimum of 75% of their attempted course work each semester. Successful completion of a course is defined as a passing grade. Grades of W (withdrawn), F (failing), I (incomplete), NC (no credit), or MG (missing grade) are not considered successful completion. All I grades must be completed in accordance with the policy set forth by the University. EXAMPLE: A student receives aid for the fall term based on 12 hours. The student is required to successfully complete a minimum of 9 hours (12 x 75% = 9) for the fall semester.
- MINIMUM GRADE POINT AVERAGE The cumulative UALR Grade Point Average (GPA) will be subject to review. NOTE: Developmental classes are not computed into the student’s GPA.
