Alternative Education Loans
Alternative loans are private sources of student financial assistance. Eligibility for the loan is based on the applicant’s credit rating. A co-signer may be required. Students may apply for an alternative loan if they
- do not qualify for federal finacial aid; or
- need additional financial aid resources to meet the cost of attendance.
Note: The total amount of aid received from all sources cannot exceed the student’s cost of attendance.
Graduate and Law School students should pursue a Federal GraduatePLUS loan instead of an alternative loan.
