Request a Personal Identification Number (PIN) from the U.S. Department of Education: www.pin.ed.gov
If you are a dependent student, your parent should also request a PIN.
After you receive your federal PIN, complete the 2005-2006 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): www.fafsa.ed.gov
Be sure to list UALR’s school code, 001101

Admissions Checklist
Receive your UALR ID Number and UALR PIN
Submit your required admission documents http://boss.ualr.edu
You must be fully admitted as a degree-seeking student to receive any financial aid funds.
You may be offered aid with an incomplete admission status, but you cannot receive any money until fully admitted.
Check with us if you have any questions about your admission status

The federal processor will send you the results on your FAFSA application
UALR will send you information about what type of financial aid you are eligible to receive.
Review your awards carefully and decide what funds are appropriate for your needs

First-time borrowers at UALR:

Financial Aid funds will credit your UALR Student Account at the beginning of the semester
Financial aid funds cannot credit your UALR Student Account until all financial aid requirements are complete. Review your missing items: http://boss.ualr.edu
Check the status of your financial aid requirements http://boss.ualr.edu
Entering freshmen will not receive student loan funds until 30 days after the first day of class

All financial aid funds are applied first to UALR charges for tuition, fees, books, etc.
If the amount of the financial aid credited to your UALR student account is greater than balance due UALR, you will receive the difference
- by a direct deposit to your bank account, or
- by a “change check”, which is a UALR check made out to you
We strongly recommend that you sign up for direct deposit immediately
Direct deposits begin 2 business days after all registration ends for the term
Change checks are mailed beginning two business days after all registration ends for the term
You will be notified via an email message sent to your UALR email account when the direct deposit has been made or a change check has been mailed.

The Book Voucher Program is available if you have memo’d or authorized aid that exceeds your balance due UALR
You may charge up to $700 in books and supplies ifyour financial aid funds exceed your balance by that amount
The Book Voucher program is available two weeks before, and four weeks, after the first day of classes.
The Book Voucher program is not available once a change check has been created

The Meal Plan Program is available if you have memo’d or authorized aid that exceeds your balance due UALR
You may charge up to $400 on the meal plan if your financial aid funds exceed your balance by that amount.
The Meal Plan program is not available once a change check has been created

Early Registration Payment Deadline
If you have been offered at least $100 in financial aid funds by the early payment deadline, no payment is required.
If you have not been offered financial aid funds of at least $100 by the early payment deadline, you must pay a $100 deposit or your registration will be cancelled.

Regular Registration Payment Deadline
If you have memo’d or authorized financial aid that equals or exceeds your balance due UALR, no payment is required.
If your memo’d or authorized financial aid is less than the balance due UALR, you must make payment arrangements.
If you have applied for financial aid, but have not been awarded by the payment deadline, you must make payment arrangements.
