Job description:The Institute on Race and Ethnicity is leading a research project on racial disparities in the Arkansas Criminal Justice System. The Institute has need of work study students to assist with a number of tasks:
- Research records of people incarcerated in the Arkansas Department of Corrections, including newspaper articles and court documents, and develop data that will be used to determine the role race played, if any, in the sentence received. The Criminal Justice Department, Dr. Jeff Walker and Dr. David Montague, is leading this part of the research project.

Job description:
- Serve as a receptionist (flexible hours).
- Answer telephone, help students (drop-ins), and answer general inquiries about the different programs or classes offered by the department.
- Assist in mailing out information/application to students.
- Pick up and distribute mail.
- Do light typing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Possess good communication and telephone skills.
- Responsible, reliable, people oriented, detail orientated, punctual.
- In general a person with a good attitude who is a team player.
