It may be a year late, but the cries for an encore have been answered nonetheless. After rave reviews of last year’s solo performance, award-winning pianist Yeol-Eum Son will be returning to UALR Monday, Jan. 24.

A classical pianist, Son’s repertoire includes an array of history’s greatest composers; Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Mozart. She plays all songs without using sheet music. Her performances have been universally noted for the breadth of emotion, soul, and passion she injects into what would be an otherwise sterile recital.

Son’s appearance will be the second of this year’s four concerts put on by Artspree, a program committed to bringing some of the most talented people in music to the UALR community.

The show is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall. General admission is $20, however, students get in free with their UALR ID. Tickets should be reserved in advance and can be purchased by calling (501) 569-3288.
