Track and Field places well at Sun Belt Championships
UALR’s track and field team has improved since last year’s showing, with the men placing sixth and women 11th at the Sun Belt Championship in Jonesboro, Feb. 27 and 28.
Nathan Carr took home the men’s 800-meter run title at 1:53.48.
Demond Burns placed second in the men’s 200-meter dash at 21.60 and third in the men’s 55-meter dash at 6.36.
Barrett Kerth, Nathan Carr, Kyle Houston, and Johnathon Cherono placed third in the men’s distance medley at 10:28.79.
Johnny Purvis placed third in the men’s 5000-meter run at 14:49.74 and fifth in the men’s 3000-meter run at 8:35.92.
Taron Dunn placed fourth in the men’s long jump with a distance of 7.24 meters and fifth in the men’s triple jump with a distance of 14.83 meters.
Sanna Mustonen was the top lady Trojan finisher with fifth place in the women’s 800-meter run at 2:14.52.
Markus Pearson placed fifth in the men’s 5000-meter run at 15:00.74.
