UALR to showcase student art
Wonder what all those art students have been up to this year? With the opening of the UALR Student Art Competitive Exhibit, art lovers and inquiring minds alike will have a chance to see some of the best work produced in the art department this year. Over 100 students submitted almost 400 pieces for the exhibit and Richard Lou, chair of the art department at the University at Memphis and former exhibitionist in the UALR Gallery, narrowed it down to about 75 pieces.
The works range between all forms of fine art including the most innovative of paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, furniture, and ceramics. Awards were presented April 5. A fundraising event for the arts featuring pieces from the show will be April 23. All exhibits will be up until the end of the semester.
