Reed chosen by Shock

Lady Trojan senior Chastity Reed was selected by the Tulsa Shock in the the third round in the WNBA Draft held on Monday, April 11. Reed was 25th overall and is the first UALR player to be chosen in the draft. She broke nine school records during her four years, which saw her lead the team to four Sun Belt Conference West Division titles and first two NCAA Tournament appearances.

She joins former Arkansas Razorback men’s basketball coach Nolan Richardson. Richardson took the Shocks’ reins in its inaugural season last year, after the team left Detroit.

She is the all-time leader in points (2207), scoring average (17.4), rebounds (896), defensive rebounds (736), field goals (943), field goal attempts (2091), free throws (307), and free throw attempts (412). The Shock start its season on Saturday, June 4, against the San Antonio Silver Stars in San Antonio.
