Track and field sets records in Calif.

Track continued improvement over the weekend at the Mt. Sac Relays and Beach Invitational in California on Friday, April 15, and Saturday, April 16, in with seven career bests.

At the Mt. Sac Relays, Demond Burns won the 200-meter dash with a career best of 21.01. Burns also took fourth in the 100-meter dash with 10.71.

At the Beach Invitational, Sanna Mustonen took sixth in the women’s 1,500 meter run with a career best of 4:33.12, giving her third in UALR records.

Nathan Carr took 14th place in the men’s 1,500-meter run with a career best time of 3:52.38.

Erika LaCroix took second in the women’s 5,000-meter dash with a career best of 17:15.01–third in UALR records. Marissa DeLaPaz followed LaCroix in the event with 20th place and a career best of 18:11.03. Shannon Sullivan also had a career best of 18:20.20 giving her 24th. Right behind her, Mackenzie Bloom took 26th with career best 18:27.84.

Track and field competes next at the Mississippi Open Saturday at Ole Miss in Oxford, Miss.
