‘The Office’ actor provides laughs
The University Program Council sponsored a night of laughs with comedian Mike E. Winfield on Feb. 7.
There were about 30 people in attendance but Winfield’s motto was, “we’ll have a show no matter what happens, but I make the most of what I’m presented with.” Although the crowd was small the audience enjoyed the show. Justin Gray, sophomore biology major said, “UPC always throws fun events. Mike E. Winfield is really funny! People will enjoy him.”
Winfield’s pre-show ritual was primping his hair into a perfect orb “I have to make sure my hair is right, if not [the audience] will clown me when I’m done.”
Originally from Baltimore, Winfield said he’s been doing comedy for more than 10 years. His experiences vary from being interviewed by talk show host David Letterman to being a cast member on this season of “The Office.” “I opened for Dave Chappelle last night,” he said.
This was his Winfield’s first trip to Arkansas.
He said that he was inspired to do comedy by comedians that he saw on TV. “I saw them and thought I could do that!” And that he did as he kept the audience involved and laughing.
After the show Winfield said, “My goal was for people to enjoy the show. I told you I’d make the best out of what I was given!”
