Alumni Association rates double among new graduates

Though last year’s numbers of new Alumni Association members dwindled at 11 percent of new graduates, the amount of newcomers this year has nearly doubled the previous rates.

Part of the Association’s improvement comes with an increase of benefits, which includes retaining the student’s UALR e-mail account, discounts for products at selected businesses and a free six-month membership to the Fitness and Aquatic Center inside the Donaghey Student Center.

Alumni Association Membership Coordinator Derek Boyce said he sees this as a mark of achievement and hopes to see future statistics continue in this rising pattern.

“UALR alumni membership is on the rise and has certainly earned our slogan [as] ‘the fastest growing alumni association in the state of Arkansas,’” Boyce said in a recent press release.

The UALR Alumni Association promotes communication and career growth among university graduates through scholarships, workshops, society involvement and networking. Lifetime and annual memberships are offered for both individuals and families, and members are given several benefits involving on-campus, local and national organizations and businesses. Members are also granted access to the Bailey Alumni Center located on campus.
