Junior Taylor Ford will be one of the many players donning pink headbands, socks and warmup shirts during the team's annual Pink Game.

Andrea Angel, director of athletic development at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, said it best while discussing the upcoming events at the Jack Stephens Center this week. “It’s more than a basketball game,” Angel said.

It will indeed be more than just a basketball game when the UALR Trojans women’s basketball team plays host to the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters in their annual Pink Game on Wednesday, Jan. 30. This special event will be held to promote breast cancer awareness and raise money for a cure to this dangerous disease.

“It’s just a big night to create awareness and hopefully raise the money for breast cancer research,” Angel said.  “We’re going to have raffles and t-shirts for sale.”

Angel said the proceeds from t-shirt sales will be donated to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

One lucky student will be the recipient of a free iPad Mini, which will be given away by QBot, the official sponsor for this event.

Tip-off for the game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.  However, Angel is recommending those attending to arrive early due to the numerous events taking place at the arena.
