The Forum adds additional weekly meeting
The Forum will meet semiweekly this semester, offering two areas of focus in each meeting: newspapers and magazines.
Our Tuesday meetings will focus primarily on all-things newspapers, which will include things like discussing story ideas, assigning stories and meeting one-on-one with staff. The meeting begins at 12:30 p.m.
Our Thursday meetings will focus primarily on all-things magazines. We have an annual magazine, The Forum Focus, which will be published this semester. In our Thursday meetings, we will conduct brainstorming sessions for the magazine, discuss favorite features of our favorite magazines and discover innovative ways to deliver content. We will also generate layout options and utilize the time to gather content to be published in the magazine.
If you are interested in attending a meeting (or both meetings), feel free to email Jacob Ellerbee, the Executive Editor, for more information.
Also, feel free to sit-in on one of our meetings (located in room 201-J of the DSC) to see if you might be interested in joining our team of talented and hard-working writers, photographers, illustrators and designers. You will be paid for all published material.
*Note: You do NOT have to be a mass communication student to work for The Forum. As long as you are currently enrolled as a UALR student, you are eligible to be a part of this growing organization.*
