First annual international fashion show to provide cultural exposure
The Muslim Student Association will host its first annual “Cultural Fusion Fashion Show” on Friday, March 14 at the Stella Boyle Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Building.
The purpose of the fashion show is to bring all of the UALR organizations together as a whole. According to Muslim Student Association President Nora Bouzihay, there has been separation among the organizations, but she want to make unity and show off the diversity that UALR has to offer to cultures by showing their fashion.
“We really want the UALR community to participate and have a night and enjoy some fun,” Bouzihay said.
Each country is granted up to 15 minutes to show off their fashion. They will also have an item that will represent their country and raffle tickets will be given to people in attendance. The winner of the raffle ticket drawing will win the item of that country that drew a raffle ticket number.
“The idea came from us,” said Bouzihay. “The organizations are going to be coming and helping with the Indian Students Association and African Students Association. They’re also considered as co-host of the fashion show.”
The Cultural Fusion Fashion Show will start at 7 p.m. and admission is free to all UALR students.
