Starting the intramural season on Oct. 6, 11-player soccer had two divisions, men’s and co-rec. The season ended on Oct. 22 with Cannon in first for the men’s division and Chi Alpha in first for the co-rec.

In the men’s division, each team fought to win all season and the teams at the top of the standings had few losses because many games ended in a draw. Cannon won four games with only one draw. In second, Panther won three games with two draws. Pike in third place also won three games, but lost two.

“We’ve worked hard practicing and building up for the championship. We’ve gotten several wins and we are looking forward to the next one in the playoffs,” Francisco Zamora, Pike team member, said.

In the co-rec division, two teams of members made up of men and women fought to be at the top of the standings throughout the season. Chi Alpha stayed in first, but the Greek Grass Kickers trailed close behind. Chi Alpha and the Greek Grass Kickers both had five wins, but the Greek Grass Kickers suffered a loss placing them in second.

“Our team puts God first and foremost. We pray with the other teams win or lose and that’s what keeps this team together,” Justice Wagnon, Chi Alpha team member, said.

Playoffs for both divisions will begin on Nov. 3 and the championships will be played on Nov. 4. Seasons for fall intramurals still to begin are basketball, racquet ball and cardboard boat regatta. More seasons will be played in the spring semester.
