Campus Services
UALR’s Office of Campus Life Adult Student Advocacy Program (ASAP) is here to help connect you to all of the resources available on campus, from the Disability Resource Center to free tutoring in math, writing and speech. The advocate can guide you to the Veteran’s Affairs office or keep you informed about programs planned to enhance your education.
No, You’re Not Alone
UALR has an academic program to suit your interests. If you know what you want to be, check it out. If you aren’t sure, take a look at the career exploration services available at UALR.
As soon as you apply for admission, Counseling and Career Services is there to help you find a rewarding future. They offer services to help you get on track and stay on track – in the field you should be in, rather than what everyone else thinks you should do. The eDiscover system, administered by the same testing service that gives college admissions tests like the ACT, is part of their toolkit.
With eDiscover, students are able to tell us their interests, values, and experiences, and we can help them find what they’d love to do on a daily basis – as well as what they’d hate doing. In other words, if you don’t like following lots of rules and requirements on how to complete a task, we won’t recommend becoming an accountant. Even better – the system can be updated with new information on your experiences throughout your college career.
All students have to do after they apply for admission to UALR is contact the Office of Counseling and Career Planning at 501.569.3185 or visit Ross Hall 417 to get an online username for this service.
