Gender Studies

Welcome

The Gender Studies Program is designed to help students understand and define the changing roles of women and men brought about by social, economic, political, and other changes in the society, and the inter-relationships between gender, class and race.

The Gender Studies Program seeks to help students develop the ability to critically and logically analyze the social construction of gender using theoretical perspectives and interdisciplinary experiences. The program also seeks to open minds and consider positive social changes.

The program stresses the awareness of community issues and cross-curtural dimensions.

The Gender Studies Program is an 18-hour interdisciplinary minor. The courses are offered by various departments at the University of Arkansas at Litte Rock (UALR).
