Thanksgiving Holiday 2009

All classes will end at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2009.
The University will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday from Thursday, November 26, 2009 though Sunday, November 29, 2009.

Grad Fest

Grad Fest will be held on October 8th and 9th from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the lower level of the DSC. At Grad Fest students graduation can take care of the following graduation tasks:

  • Order OFFICIAL UALR Personalized Graduation Announcements
  • Purchase Cap and Gown
  • Order OFFICIAL UALR Class Ring
  • Get advice from the Office of Counseling and Career Planning (credentials service, labor market information and job search strategies)
  • Chat with representatives from the Alumni Association (membership benefits, personalized brick and college license plate)
  • Inquire about Graduate School(program and admission requirements)
  • Visit with representatives from Office of Records and Registration (graduation application and general commencement information)
  • Talk with representatives from Financial Aid (exit interview – mandatory with students with loans, loan indebtedness, debt management and lender information)

Fall 2009 - Graduation Application deadline

If you are planning to graduate during the Fall 2009 semester, you must complete and submit your graduation application by Friday, October 2, 2009 by 5 p.m.

If you’ve been laid off and are having trouble finding another job you should consider applying to graduate school? This depends on several things, including your industry, your long-term career goals and your financial situation.

The Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE) provides travel funds to four selected graduate students who have been accepted to present research or scholarly papers, symposia, roundtables, or posters at the ASHE annual meeting.
