Message from the Dean

Dear Prospective Student,

Congratulations on your decision to pursue graduate education! In the 21st century, a graduate degree can be a key that opens many doors behind which lie untold opportunities for personal and professional growth. Looking to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) to provide the educational foundation upon which you can build an exciting career and life is a decision that will return a multitude of benefits. With the distinction of being classified as a Carnegie Foundation Doctoral/Research University, UALR offers 38 master’s degrees, 14 graduate certificates, two education specialists, and nine doctoral (PhD, AuD, EdD, JD) programs in our seven diverse and comprehensive colleges. UALR is a vibrant metropolitan university that is constantly striving to meet the evolving needs of our students, the people of Arkansas, the United States, and the world by providing educational, research, and service programs designed to address the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. If you are interested in an exciting and interesting career in business, the humanities, arts, social or natural sciences, engineering, and education, I believe that there is a program at UALR to fulfill your academic and professional needs. In addition to the scholarship, artistry, and other forms of creativity practiced at UALR, cutting-edge research in nano-technology, applied physical sciences and mathematics, computer science, and many emerging areas of engineering is happening here. A focus on real-world challenges and economic and social development makes the research efforts at UALR complement our numerous educational and service programs.
