Employment in Two State Positions
State law and UALR policy allow employees to work concurrently in two positions. One position would be with this University and the other position would be with another state agency or institution. Before requesting authorization for concurrent employment, the following conditions must exist:
1. The combined salary of both positions cannot exceed the maximum allowable salary for the higher salaried position.
2. The work does not interfere with the employee’s primary University duties.
3. The work must be performed outside the hours of his/her normal University work day. A classified employee is not allowed to take vacation or compensatory time to perform the work.
For more information on the approval process for concurrent employment, contact Human Resource Services.
