The Staff Senate represents classified and non-faculty, non-classified employees in the University Assembly and presents the concerns of this group to the Assembly and to the administration. Employees represented by the Staff Senate are encouraged to contact members of the Senate to express their ideas and concerns. The Senate is made up of two members for each 25 filled classified and non-faculty, non-classified positions as of July 1 each year. They represent the full-time membership of the various areas of the campus. Members are elected on a percentage basis from these areas by constituent employees and serve staggered two-year terms in office. Staff Senate is governed by the Constitution of the University Assembly, primarily Article V.
