Seasonal Flu Vaccine Clinics for High-Risk Individuals
UALR Community,
Health Services will be providing flu vaccines for the prevention of the regular seasonal flu starting in mid October. Our first flu vaccine clinics will be for high-risk persons and will be held on Thursday, October 15th and Friday, October 16th from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Health Services, DSC 102. No appointment needed.
High-risk is defined as having one or more of the following medical conditions:
- Heart disease
- Lung disease, ( i.e. asthma)
- Kidney disease
- Liver disease
- Metabolic diseases, (i.e. diabetes)
- Anemia (& other blood disorders)
- Anyone with a weakened immune system due to
- HIV/AIDS or other diseases affecting the immune system
- Long term treatment with drugs such as steroids
- Cancer treatment with x-rays or drugs
- Anyone with certain muscle or nerve disorders (such as seizure disorders or cerebral palsy) that can lead to breathing or swallowing problems.
If you ARE NOT considered high-risk, please wait until our regular flu vaccine clinics that will be offered later in October (watch for announcements).
Payment Methods:
If you have Qual-Choice insurance, You MUST bring your QC membership ID card with you on the day of your vaccination. You will need it to fill out your paperwork.
If you do not have QC insurance but are benefits eligible, your vaccination will be covered by UALR’s Wellness Pays program.
If you are not benefits eligible, please pay $20 at the cashier’s office in Admin. North and bring your receipt to Health Services.
